Nawabi semai or kunafa

Introduction:

Nawabi Semai,  or Kunafa, is a popular dessert, especially during festive occasions like Eid. It’s a layered dessert with a creamy filling and crispy vermicelli.

Ingredients:

 Ghee – 2-3 Tablespoon,
Lachcha Semai- 2 packets,
Sugar – 1 cup
Powdered milk- 1 cup,
Crushed cashew and pistachio nuts – 1 cup,
Cardamom- 3-4 hours,
Cinnamon- 2″ two,
Bay leaves- 1

For making cream:

Milk-1 liter,
Condensed milk – 1 cup
Powdered milk – half a cup,
Dano or Nestle cream (available at supermarkets)
Cornflour or custard powder – 3 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

First of all, I will burn 1 liter of milk and take it down from the stove in half a liter.

Put the fry pan in the oven and add ghee.  After the ghee gets a little hot, fry the raisins and put them in a bowl.  This time, fry the crushed almonds in ghee and keep it in another bowl.  Now add more ghee to the pan and lightly fry the cardamom and cinnamon, bay leaf, mix with the laccha semai and fry lightly.  When it becomes a little folded, add sugar and mix it well with semai.
After mixing the sugar well, I will cook it with powdered milk for 6-7 minutes while stirring.  Close the oven and remove the cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf from the pan.
Now it’s time to make the cream.  Add condensed milk, right cream, powdered milk, custard powder or (cornflower) to the boiled milk and mix well.  Now put a pan of milk on the stove and keep stirring.  The milk mixture will turn into a thick cream after heating.
The cream is ready.
Remove from the oven.

Now it’s time to decorate.
Arrange half of the roasted semai neatly in a serving dish, then add half a cup of crushed almonds and gently pour all the cream over the whole semai.  Now I will wait for 4-5 minutes.Now I will spread the rest of the semai well on top with my hands.  Now spread the rest of the crushed roasted almonds and raisins on top.

Delicious nawabi semai or Kunafa is ready.
