Bute dal – one and a half cups
Oil- 1/4 cup
Onion- 1 large (finely chopped)
– 1 piece
Black Cardamom – 2
White Cardamom – 4
Cumin- 1/4 tsp
Cloves – a few
Dry chillies – a few
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- one and a half teaspoon
Tomato- 2 (chopped)
Garlic paste- 1 tsp
Ginger paste- 2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Cumin powder – one and a half teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Bay leaves – 2
Chilli – a few
Roasted cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp

Instructions:

Soak the dal in water for 2 hours and wash it well.  If you don’t have time, mix half a teaspoon of baking powder in water and then soak the dal.  It will be soft within 20 minutes.
Place a pan on the stove and heat the oil.  When the oil is hot, add chopped onions.  When golden brown, add cloves, cinnamon, white cardamom, black cardamom, cumin and dry chilies.  Stir and add turmeric and chili powder.  Keep stirring with tomato paste.  Add ginger and garlic to the batter.  Grind all the spices and add little water.  Now add salt and powdered masala as per taste.  Saute the masala for 4 to 5 minutes.  When the water dries up, stir with water little by little.  When the oil floats on top of the masala, add the bay leaves and then add the meat.  Saute for 3 to 4 minutes.  Cover the pan with 1 cup of water with a lid.  Turn the heat to medium and wait until the meat is cooked.  Occasionally open the lid and shake the meat.
When the meat is cooked, stir it with dal for a few minutes.  Mix with some salt.  Add half a cup of water to make a little broth.  Leave a few whole green chillies and reduce the flame to low and cover the pan.  Cook for 5 to 7 minutes on low flame.  Drain while there is still some broth as the lentils will absorb the broth after draining.  Stir in roasted cumin powder and garam masala powder and serve hot.now is ready boot dal recipe with beef .
